MUSA is giving you the opportunity to get to know the Māliki school from experts! The Māliki madhhab, which has the blessed description as being the madhhab of Medina!

The Māliki madhhab is one of the four major schools of jurisprudence within Islam. In the early period, the followers of this school of jurisprudence were referred to as ‘the people of Madina’. The unique method of Malik ibn Anas, in addition to the Qur'an and Sunnah, was based on the practices and perspectives of the companions' grandchildren. Such as the North African mawla of Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Al Khattab: Nafi' and the great seven scholars of Medina which consisted mostly of children and grandchildren of the Sahaba who followed their pious ancestors in their footsteps!

Today, the madhab is dominant in countries such as Morocco, Algeria, and other places in North and West Africa and in some Gulf countries.
