Barakah Project 2023: Somalia

Assalamu alaikum everyone,

Next week we will organize an event where we will raise money for Somalia, in collaboration with the Barakah Projects. During this event we will learn more about Somalia and you’ll get the chance to taste their amazing food! We also have a lecture planned, where our speaker Muaad Sucule will tell us more about Islam in Somalia - how it has been from the time of the sahaba until now. This combined with great snacks will leave a wonderful experience behind! 

The Barakah Projects raises awareness on the importance of charity and organizes an annual fundraising campaign together with muslim youth- and student associations like sv Musa! This year we raise money for Somalia, a country where unfortunately almost 70% of the population is living in poverty and by this year around 8.25 million people need immediate lifesaving humanitarian assistance. This is why it’s important for us to come together and offer help to our brothers and sisters if we have the opportunity to do so. 

Let’s all come together next week and contribute to this initiative as much as we can! 

Note: all the money that will be raised during this event, including the entree fee will be donated to the barakah projects. 

Somali snacks are not included in the entry ticket.
